Jeremy and Isaiah drove by a construction site where the tractors were just sitting. Isaiah said "those tractors are being lazy like you are sometimes".

Conversations with Isaiah 03.036
Isaiah: Mommy, I want grilled cheese.
Me: We don't have enough cheese for grilled cheese.
Isaiah: Oh. (Pause) I want meat.
Me: Meat? What kind of meat?
Isaiah: Large meat.

I used the trimmer to cut Isaiah's hair last night. When he checked himself out in the mirror he sounded really surprised that he liked it. It was almost insulting!

Micah's Firsts
Micah had his 1 month checkup today (already!) He is 10 pounds 4 ounces, 21 3/8 inches...and ROLLED OVER when the doctor had him on his belly! And I missed it :(

Isaiah was having a hard time getting on to our bed for story time. He told Jeremy "You have a big bed, and I have a little body"

You probably aren't going to be happy if your son yells from the bathroom that he's "going potty everywhere" but it's rather amusing when he follows that with "it's on the ceiling".
He did NOT get the ceiling.

Micah @ 1 Month
Stats
10 lbs, 4 oz (75%)
21 3/8" (50%)
Nursing is going so much better. My nipples are getting used to it again so it's not so painful. When my milk lets down it still hurts though! Not an ouch-I'm-full feeling either, but stinging! It's sucky but the little guy is obviously growing so I just deal with it. Hoping that will go away soon too. He's gotten better enough at latching that I don't even need to get out of bed at night anymore. When he starts squirming we roll over, he latches, we fall back asleep. I feel SO much more rested! This is why we cosleep :D. Last night we had some trouble latching, though and I almost actually got up to feed him but he eventually got going. I hope saying he's doing so well doesn't mean we're going to start having trouble with it....that's the way babies roll sometimes.
The little guy is definitely a-growing. We moved up to size 1 diapers (MUCH later than we really could have) and he's even started wearing some 3-6 month clothes. Yes, at ONE month. It's a length thing, when he tries to really stretch out you can tell his sleepers just aren't long enough. Other 1-3 month stuff is still too big on him, though. Ugh, baby clothes is just like that. Once it warms back up and he can wear summer clothes again it won't be such an issue. He's certainly starting to get the chunky breastfed baby thing going on, but he's still not too fat for the smaller clothes. His checkup is Tuesday so we will see how big he really is then.
Last weekend was Micah's baptism. Nothing really earth-shattering but it was nice. I love our priest, he lets all the kids in church come sit up front so they can really see what's going on. Isaiah was particularly happy about that because he wanted to stand up front with us anyway!
Speaking of Isaiah, he's still totally in love with his brother. Always asks to hold him and wants to give him kisses...even has said that we need (yes, NEED) to have another baby! Ack! No way! Especially because the love for his brother doesn't carry over to Jeremy and me. He's not happy that he's lost so much attention and has been acting up. I know it's normal and all so I'm not concerned, but I can't believe he says he wants us to have another when one has taken so much of our time from him!
And, the BEST thing for last...he's totally started smiling for us! I went to get him out of his crib the other day after he'd been put in there for a nap. When I leaned over and started talking he looked up and gave me a big ol' baby smile! It was great! You can't tell me that was gas :P! He did the same thing earlier today when I put him down to use the bathroom...when I went back in and said hi he gave me a smile. He also sometimes does it when I tickle his sides. I love it!

Isaiah asked me to put Mr. Potatohead's "bum" back on because "he likes his bum". I laughed and asked if Isaiah liked his own bum and he said yes. Then he gave me a big smile, turned around and pulled his pants down enough to show me his bum!
Ohhhh boys!!

Mommy Thoughts
Note to self: When taking your kids for pictures you really should make sure they don't have any tattoos. Totally forgot Isaiah had a temporary Iron Man one on his forearm!
Pictures are adorable anyway!

Micah @ 2 Weeks
Micah will be two weeks old tomorrow, but this is going to count as his update because I'm (planning on) going back to classes tomorrow and will probably be too exhausted to actually write. If I'm not, I may let you know how the day actually went.
Needless to say, I"m definitely not looking forward to tomorrow. I'm more feeling bad about leaving my baby so early than upset about being away from him. This will probably change when I actually need to leave the house, but maybe not. I think it's going to be MUCH easier to leave him at home with daddy/grandma/auntie than it would be to drop him off at daycare.
I actually did a practice run today. I left Micah at home with Jeremy while I ran to Target. I wasn't even gone an hour, but other than feeling bad that I was leaving my baby, I didn't get upset. If I don't let the guilt get to me, I may do okay with this. And I'm not leaving him for more than 4 hours at a time (I plan on coming home on my 2 hour break on my long days) so it's not like I'm going back to work where I'd leave him for 8-9 hours at a time.
I've gotten in to the habit of going back to bed after Micah eats at 5:30/6:00 am. Not a good thing because I sleep until 8:30 or 9:30. At that point I need to be staying up and just getting ready, then napping later. Well, I honestly don't know how napping will go on the long days because I really only have an hour break and I need to eat and either pump or feed the baby in that time. Class is done at 3 and then I usually go get Isaiah, if I don't right away I won't even have an hour until his normal pickup time. I don't know how I'm going to stay awake! It will be early bedtime, that's for sure. Tuesdays and Thursdays are going to turn in to "rest up" days!
I got a Moby wrap today. I never "wore" Isaiah, but I had fewer responsibilities then. Now there's the whole house to take care of, plus a 3 year old. Actually, I mainly got the wrap so I could hold Micah while still being able to research/write papers, read over slides, study, what have you. The boy definitely likes to be held, and I have no problem with that. I've started swaddling him in his crib for one of his naps during the day, but since I won't be with him 24/7 anymore I don't want to have to put him down to work on school stuff. We did a trial run with the wrap and it seemed to go okay. We will have to see how well it works when I use it for real.
