Isaiah was standing on one of the bricks in our yard and told me he was going "to do magic". He then turned around and said "Ladies and gentlemen..... Boys and girls!"

Conversations with Isaiah 02.007
I was telling my mom how Isaiah has started calling me "Mom" at only 2 1/2. He heard me and said "Ohhh, Mom. You're ridiculous."

Isaiah Milestones
In other news...Isaiah astounds me with his sentences lately. We've actually been having small conversations AND he's starting to come up things that aren't given options. Last night I asked what he wanted for dinner and he said mac n'cheese so I said ok, I'd make that and he said NO. Ugh. So I started naming off his options and he threw out hot dogs...NOT something I'd even THOUGHT of! Maybe it's a little thing, but I'm so used to him choosing from what we mention that coming up with his own thing is crazy.
He's started "reading" more. I know it's just memorization at this point, but it's SO exciting. He did almost an entire page the other day...I just read the first two words and figured he'd finish the sentence like we normally do. Nope, he read the whole gosh darn page. :)
Oh, and potty training is going pretty darn well. He had no accidents three times last week (including naptime and pooping IN THE POTTY) and yesterday as well. We totally bribe him with stuff and today he gets an Iron Man tattoo if he doesn't have any accidents. I usually don't like bribing him before hand because those seem to be days that he has LOTS of trouble...almost like I jinx the poor kid.
The pacifier is gone. I didn't want to push it when we are still working on potty training, but one day Ruff got a hold of it and chewed it up pretty bad. The nipple was still fine, but it was SO messed up on that side that I know it would have hurt him. He's doing ok without it. He still asks for it every night and it's taking him longer to fall asleep but he's not thrown a full blown fit for it (only for wanting to sleep in our bed...????).

Conversations with Isaiah 02.006
Isaiah: Ow, Mommy, you pokey!
Me: I'm not pokey! Daddy is! (Jeremy's beard).
Isaiah: No. Daddy pokey on his face. You pokey on you legs.
(I guess I need to shave.)

Fears of a 2 Year Old
Isaiah's started getting to the age where things scare him. Did I mention when we went to the zoo and the monkeys terrified him? This is the boy that LOVES anything monkey...shirts, toys, books. I guess just not the real ones, even the little spider monkeys freaked him out. It's random stuff, too. A bear on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (he LOVES that show), spiders. One night he was talking about "Scary Guy Gumbo" and I have NO idea what he meant! I'm wondering if he's also scared of the dark now. He woke up THREE times the other night crying, but went right back to sleep when one of us went to check on him. Last night he insisted on going to be with a flashlight on (but under the covers...?). He even brought it with him when he climbed in bed with us. I woke up with it under my back. Ow!
But the fears seem totally random. We watched The Princess and the Frog the other night (the new one from a couple years ago) and it was Disney, but I worried the bad guy would scare him. Nope. Didn't have any trouble with that.
We did get him a new night light, so we'll see if that helps tonight. I also have tried convincing him that Ruff will chase away scary/bad guys. And he's started telling me that, so maybe he believes him. We did try to get Ruff to eat a spider the other night. Dumb dog didn't see it but Isaiah thinks Ruff scared it off so I think maybe that helped him believe in the dog's protection a bit more.
